Jbar HD 5ft cutter

What do you think of this cutter? If you say it is cheap what makes it cheap? It has 7 gauge deck, 40hp gear box.I can weld extra bracing on top of deck if that would make it better.I don't see the difference from this cutter than others.I have read most cutters use the same gear boxes.I would be using it for grass no heavy brush.It weighs over 500lbs.it is made from US steel.please give reason for your opinions. Thanks! Would love to hear from one that has the HD model.The price is $785 on there facebook page.I am waitting to get email from them.

A 40 HP gearbox is not heavy duty. Brown cutters only have 120HP gearboxes. They call that medium duty. My 6' Brown weighs over 1100# and their 5' cutters are over 1000#. The Bush Hog 305's and 306's put them on the map. They were fitted with 90 HP gearboxes Nothing wrong with the J Bar but it is not heavy duty.

That Brown is a beast! I looked at bushhog brand, Landpride,King kutter. The J-bar has thicker steel.Maybe the blade tip speed is slower.I will check with J-bar.
