Tractor
Kubota B2320
Just an official howdies and a thanks to these forums for all the information which lead to my purchase. I've had the tractor for 2 weeks and 20 hours of engine time now but just signed the paperwork yesterday so it's official.

But for those comparison shopping, I'm in CT and bought from an in-state dealer.

Kubota 2320 Hydrostatic
304 FEL
Ballast Bucket
Land Pride 4ft Box Blade
A&B One Bottom Plow
Clamp on Forks
Tooth Bar
-- just over $18k including taxes

Like so many others it was between the JD2320 and the K2320 but it just came down to deciding that the price diff could pay for a few extra attachments. Originally, started by looking at a BX25 but glad I moved up to the B. The larger frame was a good decision considering what I've been doing.

What I've been doing:

1. Beating back the woods/brush about 20 feet in all directions to expand the yard. Cutting down trees and clearing out all the ground cover.
2. Bringing in fill to to grade out some steep areas and fill in some 'pits'
3. and eventually in the spring will turn over the entire front and back yards and put some 'real' top soil down and re-seed.

By far the best attachments I've used so far has been my neighbor's york rake for cleaning up the woody areas. The one bottom plow has been great for turning over the very hard compact soil and loosening things up. And the box blade has been great for spreading and smoothing things out.

I didn't go for the mowing deck (yet) since I have a JD lawn tractor for mowing which should still suffice for the time being.

I've very happy with my purchase and I've found alot of information in these forums extremely useful towards making this purchase, not to mention again the how-to videos on EverythingAttachments.com.

Thanks

Issue #1

Sigh....The last piece was the tooth bar that the dealer installed today and when I got home it was on the tractor. Unfortunately, the dealer drilled the holes in the wrong spot! He drilled them to the back so I can't loosen them up and flip the tooth bar up. Sigh....

If we re-drill the holes in the correct position how will that affect the integrity of the bucket in the long term? I knew where to drill the holes (thx to these forums) and even told the salesman where they needed to be drilled.

Wondering how the dealer is going to offer to 'fix' the problem.....

Technically speaking the dealer did put them in the right place. I have seen people on this website drill them more forward so they can flip the tooth bar up, but really that's not how a tooth bar is meant to be setup. The bolt goes to the back of the slot, as the bucket edge wears your tooth bar can be slid back accordingly. Also, if you are back dragging with the bucket flat you could pull the tooth bar off if the holes are not at the back. Go look at any skid steer or TLB with a tooth bar and I bet 99% of them are setup with the bolt to the back of the slot.

Congrats on the tractor and implements purchase. The B's are great Compact tractors. If I were going to buy another tractor, I would give the B2320 a very serious look.

Yeah I don't think I'm gonna hassle them too much about it even though I told him how I wanted it mounted beforehand. They did let me have the tractor for 2 weeks before I signed the papers while waiting on the attachments and I was able to get a ton of work done in those 2 weeks and I do appreciate that. Maybe I can get them to throw in a spare fuel can ;-)

Congrats on the new tractor. The B2320 is on the top of my list. Trying to decide if it's worth the extra $1300+ to go up to the 2620.
Waitin on the pics.
Good luck!

OK.... here are the pictures in a new gallery...

New tractor to grade the hill with the fill the town delivered for me.

Tooth bar and box blade made digging the trench a breeze... loading the trench I made with debris from the fill pile and covering it up.

Started clearing the woods with the neighbor's work rake as well but got a lot more to do!

And it has a nice spot in the garage under my trike =)

I've been busy in the 3 weeks I've had it! =)

Congratulations on your new tractor. Very, very nice.

You are working yours harder than I will be mine. You are pleased with the performance so far?

That trench looks great, glad to see someone else use their tractor to it's fullest ability.

Performance has been better than I expected. When that mountain of dirt got delivered I thought I was going to need a bigger tractor but I've been knocking it down one bite at a time. (Granted, a bulldozer would probably make quick work of the pile). The tooth bar makes a HUGE difference when digging, stumping, and picking up rocks and everything else. The box blade made digging the trench a breeze, I switched back a forth using box blade and bucket. But for precision digging a backhoe is a better idea. I dug the trench to bury all the crap that I filtered out of the fill as I work on grading it on the hillside so it didn't need to be perfect. Worked great. I need to dig another one now since I filled and covered that one already.
