Re: It\'s burning season

Whats that square thing on your bucket?? A 2" receiver??
I have a chain hook there and on both ends...
We can't burn too good in Western WA unless we had the foresight to cover our burn piles last September, its been raining 26 days straight.
I understand other places still see more average rainfall...
like GA and LA?? Maybe just more at once instead of lighter rain forever??
Then theres this "convergence zone" we have due to Puget Sound and the Cascades. Everett, just a few miles to the north of Seattle, got two days rain to our 26. Go figure.

Re: It\'s burning season

I welded a receiver on the bucket so I can put a trailer hitch in there to move my trailer around. I had a buddy of mine apply for a job in your neck of the woods and they made it a point to discuss the weather and that the applicant was well aware of the amount of rain they get.................he didn't take the job

That picture makes it feel really cozy here in computerland. We can't burn around here without getting a permit even for a burn drum.

Re: It\'s burning season

Thanks for the pics !

I want to weld a receiver hitch to my bucket like yours so that I can mount an SUV hitch sander/spreader. Since I have a rear mount snowblower, I figure I can have a sander on the bucket going behind me sanding. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

For $400, it is the best deal around.

Click the picture for a link to the sander.

It's even Kioti orange and black.

Re: It\'s burning season

Here is the other way I use a receiver . Those are two 3/4" bolts with the heads cut off, welded to the receiver

Re: It\'s burning season

If you are going to put some weight on the bucket you most likely will have to reinforce the top lip . I see the unit weighs 66lbs and holds 300lbs of materiel so you'll have to reinforce the bucket

Re: It\'s burning season

It has been way to wet around here to burn outside...as soon as it dries out a bit I've got three large piles to burn (and since I keep pushing over more trees every weekend I expect to end up burning all spring /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

I've been burning inside since October. I go through about four buckets of wood per week! It's a lot of wood but it keeps the furnace off (completely off) during the day and most of the night.

Re: It\'s burning season

Up here in parts of NorthEast Ohio you cant burn anything. If you want to have a bonfire you have to get a permit from the city and they have the fire dept. there as conttrol. Not that I haven't ever burned anything outside before /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif But my grandparents are allowed to burn everything and anything. garbage, trees, plastic, you name it they can burn it. their so lucky!

Re: It\'s burning season

Here in my parts of NH, as long as there is snow on the ground, you don't need a permit. If not, you only need a permit for piles larger than 5ft diameter. They are pretty lax about that stuff up here.

DrewL - Thanks for the heads up on reinforcement, I never thought about that. Back to the drawing board.

and Kansas... no burning going on here... burn ban is in effect.. day after the County commission encacted the ban one of the long time Commissioners got busted for wrapping rancid meat in paper and burning it outside. Was pretty funny. Class A misdemeanor no less! punishable by up to a year in jail.

Re: It\'s burning season

I've got a big burn pile that I would love to set on fire, but I couldn't lite it with a flame thrower right now. It will take a few weeks of no rain to get it dry enough to burn.

I'm all for sending some of this "Extra" rain down your way!!

God Bless,
Dereck
