Thanks - between all new wire, router and some network settings it seems to be working. I also found that "Mail" (Mac version of outlook) on one machine (and only one machine) also slowed it way down. I ended up setting up a new user acct on my laptop and that seems to allow mail to run on that machine without any issue. best I can tell mail is checking for new mail too frequently for the frontier routers happiness? It seems to think it is under attack and slows to a crawl - very weird but at least all is working now.

Not weird at all, I troubleshoot these issues daily doing broadband installs and service. Apple products seem to be the worst at sucking the life out of your speeds and ping times. The look on peoples faces when you show them the actual problem is their equipment and not our service is priceless. The one's that make me laugh are the ones that say my " My wifi isn't working" I say you mean your internet isn't working? They say yeah, my wifi. You truly cant fix stupid.
