A significant number of post recently addressed overheating issues with their BX's. I just wanted to share with you the solution I found. Just the other day I mowed while it was in the mid eighties. My temp gauge barely lifted off the cool side.

First, make sure your foam strip is in tact. This is critical!

It gets damaged by the lip at the bottom of the screen that catches it on the way out.

When you are cleaning that screen, have the battery compartment open because behind that screen is the cause of the overheating. Fine particles of dust and dirt will clog up the rad like plastercine.

This is it closed, so it is easy to overlook, but this was the cause of my overheating problems and nearly hitting the red zone while mowing on a 70 degree day.

Hope that helps some of you.
