I've never cared anything about how much the person selling me something makes as a profit. My decision is based on whether my budget allows the purchase and whether it provides me with what I want for that amount of money. I do shop around for large purchases to make sure I get the most I can for my money, but don't really care if a car dealer makes 1% or 20% profit as long as he sells me something I want at a price I'm willing and able to spend. When I go to the movies I pay an outrageous amount of money for everything from the ticket to the popcorn and am happy because I want the entertainment, and I don't care what it costs the theatre to make a bag of popcorn. I paid hundreds of thousands for a house and have no clue how much the builder made and don't care. I like the house and it was offered at a price I felt was fair and could afford so I bought it. If I felt a tractor were too expensive I wouldn't buy it, or I'd buy a different tractor or buy one somplace else, or buy no tractor at all and get a goat to eat the grass and a horse to plow the field.
