JD 4066 R. with FEL. I think hydraulics total is about 16 gpm, but 11.6 for implements. I have a 3rd function up front on the bucket, and 4 and 5th in rear.

I have access to a beltec M-350 auger, which does state 20-36 gpm. would fit on my skid steer adapter plate on FEL. Clearly the auger is capable of much more than my tractor can do. I believe it can handle bits up to 48" or so. If I wanted to use a smaller auger, < 12 inch, possible 8" rock bit for rocky/clay/soil mix, would the tractor handle it? would it just be slow? Looking for someone with expertise/experience? I would just give it a try, however, I will have to get some adapters for different couplers, so want to get information first. Not an auger I would go out and buy given more than tractor can effectively utilize, however its available to use so want to know if would work

Thanks

I have 16 gpm out the front on mine, it turns a skid steer auger no problem, 18 inch bit to 6ft depth in really rocky ground. It doesn't take a lot of flow to turn the auger bit (its slow). The smaller diameter bit the better it will work. My "guess" is it will work. See what others think first.

Thank you. I hope to see others experiences too.

I'm going to guess your tractor will spin it about 1/3 of its rated capable speed, slow but depending on what your trying to do might get the job done. What size are your lines supplying the 3rd function remotes? If there 3/8" ID I believe that will limit your actual flow to 6-7gpm. Be nice to put a flow tester on and actually find out what you have.

I read "have access to" to mean you can use the auger at little to no cost. I would absolutely try it and see if it works to your satisfaction. I know it would work for me if I was in your situation.
