Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

Is it not possible for Tesla to correct the few blaring shortcomings that everyone points out ( other than being a battery vehicle)?
I’d like to see USA products do well

I think the issue with the hitch falling off was resolved with some sort of super adhesive. That sounds terrifying to me, not that adhesive can't work while the metal remains in good condition, but I worry how it will hold up as the metal begins to corrode and blister around it from the edges.

But the most "blaring shortcoming" for most may be just how ugly it is. :ROFLMAO:

I went with FranklinWH batteries and solar management system a few years ago, no problems and it has worked well so far.
I was on the list several years back for Tesla Power Wall as I had already installed my 6kW array…

13 months after going on the list I got the call and by that time I had other things going so I said thank you but no thank you…

No idea the current state of affairs….

I like my solar and each year I get a small check for the excess I produce… but I’m also careful as to usage…

I lot of notable visionaries probably are eccentric to my thinking…

Don't really care to own a Tesla car or Cyber truck, I just hope their stock keeps climbing like it has been lately.

Pure EV will remain too limited for the needs of most of us in the rural western US for the next 20-30 years. There's not enough electricity being produced to meet the needs.

Hybrid is still vastly superior, especially the plug-in kind. Having a hybrid with around 50 miles of EV range and 600+ miles of total range is currently possible and would be great for most pickups.

Elon is a true believer that EV will save the world from a non-crisis, crisis. That's why he's pushing to make low-price vehicles. He wants them driven by everyone.

Maybe if we have 100 new nuclear plants first.

Dark Black, The CT needs the towbar mount and other issues sorted pronto, BUT the CT needs a complete redesign to be a more practical vehicle as a pickup.
In my opinion the CT should have targeted the ford ranger size niche for daily drivers (2.5 to tow rating) as the EPA have forced pickup makers out of the size, so an EV pickup in that size would have a vacant market space. It would also use EV strengths and avoid fighting the big 3 in ice strength areas(fast fueling, established infrastructure , long range, etc). Currently the CT has the worst of both worlds( poor infrastructure, slow refueling, impractical, short real world towing range, and polarising looks.

That's actually one of the most intelligent things I've heard in 64 pages of this thread. You're right, there's a huge hole there, just waiting for someone to fill it, and the strengths of an EV could shine better here than in the "big pickup" market.

Our electric cost has DOUBLED in the past year, and they want another increase. The economy of an EV is quickly waning. We now pay about $230/mo while running no AC or heat.

🤔

US Customers buy more than 10x more full size F150’s than smaller Rangers.🤔

Tesla R&D costs would have been the same, to design the cybertruck from the ground up as a Ranger -sized truck instead of the full-sized truck, but a Ranger sized competitor would have to sell for less money, making recouping R&D costs even more difficult.
Then you factor in , that people want a full size 10x more often than a Ranger size truck…
