Is L275 worth $5,800?

I'm looking for a small tractor with a loader and box blade for landscaping work. I looked at an L-275 today that seems to run good but looks ugly and has a few hydraulic leaks. When it was first started it was slow to turn over and was billowing smoke out of the exhaust. It didn't smoke after it was running.

Are the leaks in the hydraulic cylinders a simple fix?
Does the smoke when starting mean anything?
The tractor has a spray can paint job that is blue over the original orange and the owner doesn't know why, it was painted when he bought it.

Is this tractor worth $5,800?
Does it sound like it will need alot of work?

I'll readily admit to not know what that tractor's worth, but that deal sure sounds scary to me; not one I'd be interested in.

I wouldn't think twice about it for that price, either. The hydraulic problems aren't major, but unless you know a lot about engines, it's hard to say what kind of shape the engine is in.

Now with saying all that you did get a good price on that whole machine if 24,500 was the total
