My Cub Cadet Zforce 50" is 5 years old and dealer states one of the transmission needs to be replaced at a cost of $900. The problem initially was the unit was started to veer to one side like it lost power on one side only. However, with a little working of the steering arms i was able to get it back to the garage. I let it cool and check transfluid. It was empty in the resevior but i found no leaks. I did some research and found it need full synthetic rotella 15W40. It seems to work fine for a week then wife was mowing and the belt idler on the deck locked up. Repaired that and then a loud noise was noticed and the idler on the transmission was failing. Just before, this i noticed the transmission was not operating correctly, but thought the idler was casuing slippage attributing to the transmission issue. So, replace transmission idler and transmission seemed to get worse. I did notice transmission fuild looked like a creamy muddy solution. but, gave up at that point and took it to the dealer. When I received the bad news.
But, after reading some of the older post on Zforce 50" i am thinking i may have incorrect fluid and possible dirt build up in my transmission. I am thinking I am going to try to remove the fluid and flush with new fluid and see if that makes a difference.
However, I am open to input to any other who may have a similar experience.
