Yes, it is a good system...hmmm never really thought of keeping it under the Delta. I'll have to give that some thought.

Oh well, The Pat's hitch sold so I ain't gonna really worry about it now.

Might have to sell my Pats as well. The upright sort of catcher thing on the pats interferes with the Delta. I'll look at it to see if its worth cutting off.

The put the receiver on the control was a brilliant idea, but didn't work so well I'm afraid. Ended up going back to the hold em in my hand approach. It was a good thought that was worth trying though.

Hmmm, it worked for me on the 2nd one. We'll see when I put the other 2 on though.

So, have you tried the hook up and release yet? Man, I love it.

I know that the price of the system has been mentioned as a detriment but, for me it would be worth it. In fact, anyone who values the long term health of their back, should give it some thought. As it stands now with my near 60 year old back that has seen a lot of hard work, it is hard to motivate myself to wrestle some of my equipment on my tractor with out my chiropractor on standby. This is true even though I have a Pat's easy change system which makes it somewhat easier though not nearly as easy as their web site would have you believe.

Anyway, the way I have it figured is I have about $15000.00 in my used tractor and equipment. Something that might cost me $2000.00 more that would enable me to use it for what I intended is not a bad investment. As soon as I get some bucks, I'm getting one.

By the way, I am not in any way affiliated with the company that manufactures the Delta Hitch system. I really hate scam artists who pretend to be giving an objective opinion of a product but really are on the company payroll. I been scammed at least once myself by this technique.

Will this work with a 3PT mounted backhoe?

A note - talked to the nice gentleman who owned it about some minor issues I've had - need a longer top tube, and the geometry of the 3pt is set back a bit, which means the extra-long top and tilt that I bought to work with the Pats is now too long....

I've had some problems with new control and receiver plates sticking together too tight. So he recommended teflon spray - I just bought some at Napa and sprayed all the plates, should make on an off easier.

The system does seem to make life a lot easier, though I'm still putting it on really so can't give a definitive review.

Yeah, he told me about the stickage when I got them from him in the parking lot. I spayed some type of oil on them and they didn't stick. That should be put in the directions.

That was my problem with your idea - carried the reciever plate over to the implement on the tractor, then hammered on it for 5 minutes to get it off...

Well, if it makes you feel any better, after using the tractor with plate #2, I just held the plate and my 9 yr old daughter stuck in pins on plate 3 and 4. It was just easier.

THat would be a lot easier - the plates aren't that bad to put on in truth, no worse, and in fact easier, than putting on an attachment, but a third hand would make things a lot easier.

I think I'm going to love the system, but am taking the oppty to do a whole bunch of minor tractor maintenance, so still no real review.

Strikes me the implements are easier to get on and off if left on flat land? And I've mounted the implement side plates as high as possible, seems to make life easier.

I wanted to make sure everyone saw our new website at DeltaHook - The 3-point tractor hitch technology. There are a several new features along with some cost justification information as well as dealer and customer testimonials.

I am going back to the states n September and was thinking that perhaps I would pay the extra luggage charge and bring this system back with me as a surprise present for my husband. I would suggest improvements to your website. I went to look at the video again ot refresh my memory on how great this thing is but there is no long a video on your website. Then a most critical piece of information that is missing is the weight. It seems to me like you need to work on a page like technical specifications or something similar. I need to know the weights of the products. In September and October I have 4 people coming to France fromt he USA. I was thinking I could have each of them bring a piece but I need to know the weights. The internet nowdays is your showroom to the world I will bet that virtually everyone checks out the manufacturers website before purchasing anything of value. I would urge you to invest more time in your website. A lack of information makes me not want to buy your good product. When spending my money trust me I want more information not less.

When you click the link to his site the large picture you see right off the bat is the video. Look at the bottom of the picture and you will see the player controls.

Rox, I don't think they come here much so they probably won't get your message. You should email it to them (see their webpage), along with your questions...or call them. Nice people.

You still having problems finding that video huh :( It's still there :D

If I were you Robert, I'd call and find out if the Cat-2 would be able to hook up to a Cat-1 recevier. That way, as you said, the Cat-2 tractor would be able to use all of the implements and the smaller tractor would still be using the cat-1 implements.

I checked with the company and the cat 1 and cat 2 systems will not work with one another, gotta go with one or the other.

Curly and charles, I would love to hear what you think so far as I'm looking at getting a delta hook for my 5740. Thanks!

Really liking it so far. Makes life a LOT easier - equivalent to QA on the FEL.

You NEED a hydro top link to my mind with it though. Doable without, but makes life harder. Think of how you tilt the QA to get it into a QA bucket.

I went with reinforced Cat 1 - they put gussets on, so the m59 won't kill it - did that for the interchangeability reason. Haven't really tested it yet, but will this fall when I use my 1400 pound SR30 box behind the m59 - they said they'd stand behind it if things went sproingg, and I trust them from my experience to date. But if Cat 1 is fine with the m59 I'd have no worries with the 5740.

Rox - the pieces each weigh a solid 70- 80 pounds. I'm a big, fit, guy and I wouldn't enjoy carrying them on a plane.... They aren't just heavy, they are dense. I find it easier to move 100 pound sacks of seed.

OK, I did something stupid . I didn't have an implement on the back of my tractor as I've been doing a lot of grappling in tighter spaces and wanted to be a bit shorter in length. After cleaning up many down pines (pine beetles)...at some point I looked at this stump on the edge of my lawn that I've been meaning to try to pull out and so I threw a chain around it to see if it would budge. I hooked the chain on both of my lower 3 pt arms and around the tree and gave it several tugs. I reckon the 55 hp is stronger than I realize cause I looked back and noticed that the plate that goes on the tractor was now buckled pretty good. Man, I took that thing off and started trying to figure out how I was gonna get it bent back out...no way I could do it.

I knew it was stupid and figured I was out the funds to replace it, but I called the company and told then what I did and what happened to the plate. The fella that called me back was the same fella that met me last time to deliver the plates in the first place. He said he'd be glad to meet me some place again and give me a new plate.

No questions asked. Now that is what I call good customer service. So yeah, I'm still recommending them :D
