Installing speakers in the headliner of the B3030

Pretty good though doubles as an interior light, wire it hot so you can turn them on/off without the radio on. put the switch neatly right above the door in the headliner it will be your dome light switch

Did just that WaxMan. Picked up a neat little lighted blue rocker switch.
While I was at it, I decided I didn't want the headliner out again just yet, so I picked up a magnetic mount work light for the rear. Got a cigarette lighter from Auto Palace and wired it up to an empty plug on the left side of the seat (which is powered only when switch is on), near the wiring that feeds rear defroster. Tie wrapped it to the defroster switch bracket and now I've got a temporary rear work light for about $20 to help me back into the unlit barn.

OK, WaxMan, the bracket showed up today. It the bracket all there is? No longer bolts to compensate for those front spacers?
And besides that, it looks like this bracket has been sitting on someone's shelf for quite some time. No exterior signs or scratches but a little rust on the inside. Kubota could have at least included those 2 bolts for $104.
I haven't dry fitted to the cab yet, but likely will shorten those spacers like you did.

After you cut those spacers down you have to bend the bracket just a little in the vice because now the angle will be different.
Don't forget try it first before cutting anything you might like it the way it is.
Still waiting for the lighted dome light switch pictures.
How do you like the b3030 so far? is it still sleeping in the garage?

Will get some lighted rocker switch pics later on today after the stereo is in. Switch and stereo should be visible in the same photo.
Thanks for the heads up about needing to bend the bracket if I shorten the spacers. I probably would have seen that eventually, but it's always nice to have a little advance warning. As you say, I'll do a test fit of the bracket as is, before any cutting. Who knows? I may be OK with it.
Wouldn't you know it, I think we've gotten about 3 flakes of snow since the tractor purchase. About the only thing I've done with it is to move the trailer that brought the tractor home and then move my enclosed motorcycle trailer after a friend had borrowed it.
My part of NY state should be thanking me for trading my other tractor in on a new one and thus keeping snow away for the rest of this winter! ;)

So how much did you save in the end by not buying the stereo package from Kubota? I'm guessing about 500.00 dollars? And look at the fun you had doing it.

I'd say that $500 is a fair estimate. Gee, I think that's the first car stereo that I've installed in 20 years or so. In my old age, I just get a factory AM/FM/CD in my other vehicles and call it good.
It's always nice to putter out in the garage. Especially on a nice new toy like the 3030.

Hello, someone sent me a Pm asking for the pictures of installing the speakers in my B3030.
The free web hosting I was using deleted all my pictures since I didn't want to pay 9.95 per month for the rest of my life.
So I will post them right on TBN. If anyone is interested in other pictures from my other posts let me know and I'll do the same.

Looks like my old pics have long since disappeared from wherever they were hosted. I don't even think I have them on the computer anymore.
At any rate, I pretty much found the project to be a waste of time in the end. With the hydro whine and the motor revving at PTO rpm you can't hear the stereo anyway. I suppose it would be OK if you plan on working next to the tractor at different things with the motor not running and want stereo.
Just one of those projects that seemed like a good idea at the time.
