Installing PTO Jinma pump

Does anyone know if I need to empty fluids before I remove the back plate to install the Jinma PTO hydraulic pump? Thanks for your help.

Hi..No you do not have to drain anything.You may get about a teaspoon of oil that seeped around the seal but that's all.
I made a extra gasket for installing the pump.and note that the mounting bolts with the pump are slightly longer than the ones in the cover plate. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for your answer, will be placing the order with Tommy of Affordable today. If I understand correctly I will need a new gasket everytime I take the pump off and put it back on when using and not using the backhoe. Right?

I won't claim to have much Jinma knowledge but, I did just look at the exact set up you are working with. I didn't see the gasket it came with but, the cover was off. I didn't look like it would be too hard to make an extra gasket out of a rubber gasket material from an auto parts store. Lube the gasket with a little oil prior to installation and it should come off easily on disassembly, without damage, ready for re-use. I'm sure Tommy @ Afforable will have a knowledgable suggestion.

Yep you can reuse the gasket..It's not really for sealing any oil in or out..Just a slight cushion for the metal to metal contact.I think the orig. on the cover plate was made of cork.I made one with some old gasket material I had laying around.

Thanks for your input. I am now waiting for the delivery of the pump. Tommy of Affordable tractor was good enough to send me the UPS tracking number so I will be able to follow the delivery. Thanks again to you and all those that cared.
