Insomnia

I've been taking enzymes since September 2005 (Zenpep). I have the same problem with my pancreas.

Elavil is not a sleeping pill. Read about it, they use it for many things, including sleep problems.
How do you balance food against enzymes?
I find it difficult and end up just not eating when I have to travel somewhere.
I took zenpep and now am using creon, which seems to work better for me. I did hear that for some people one or the other works better and they have no idea why.

I am kinda scared of taking any more pills, as it seems my pancreas fail was due to a medicine I was taking to lower my cholesterol. An unlisted side affect which has led to permanent damage.

I take 1 for a tiny snack and 2 for a little larger one. 4 for a lighter dinner and 5 for a larger one. They work fine for me, like I said, 20 years now.

I carry a prescription bottle in my pocket for eating at Mickey D's or other.

I have take 7 other pills, but no problems .

I tried that, but most of the time I am just in too much pain. Balancing how much I take is not going well.
I don't eat fast food or fried stuff, I don't think all the pills in the bottle would help me with that.
I get overwhelmed easily and have just stopped eating a lot of different foods. I never really ate fast food to start with.
Glad it's working for you, so some hope for me.

I have to be careful with saturated animal fats, because my gall bladder was removed. Now over the last 5 years I can eat little more fatty foods. I don't want to each much, but I want some variety.

My pancreas doesn't give me any pain. Before my gall bladder operation I had 24 hour pain, because it was inflamed and the idiot specialists couldn't figure it out.

What’s worked for me on rough nights is keeping my mind focused on something simple, like podcasts or low-volume TV. Also, I’ve tried a few herbal options I found through SmokeDay.com that help me relax without feeling groggy the next day. It's not a magic fix, but they help take the edge off when my mind won’t slow down.

On virtually every continent, save for Antarctica, there is evidence of biphasic sleep among preindustrial cultures.
Two distinct blocks of sleep were called “first sleep” and “second sleep,” and the waking period in between was known as "the Watch" in English.
People were becoming increasingly time-conscious and sensitive to efficiency, but the industrial revolution intensified that attitude, until the 1920s, where an 8hr continous time for sleep became the norm.
Humans are the only mammals who routinely sleep only at night.

Here I am again, up for an hour or two in the middle of the night.

Cutting out caffeine after noon helped me a ton.
I remember drinking coffee after dinner, 8pm, and then going to bed with no troubles. I miss those days.

My cutoff these days is usually 3pm. I'll still enjoy a cup of Joe while I work at my desk after dinner, but it's decaf, anymore.

I switch from coffee to iced tea at noon. But I can drink iced tea up till bedtime and still sleep well.
