how would one increase their gpm flow in a 790 john deere i installed a pressure guage in the hydraulics and shimmed it on the relieve valve.i do have a considerable amount of counter weight and having the cylinders enlarged would allow for more volume but also slow down the system any thoughts would be appreciated

You would have to replace the pump with a bigger one, and it's just not feasible to do that.

Sean, why do you think you need more GPM?
I agree with Kenny...probably not feasible, but with enough $$$, I'm sure it could be done.
But the 790 is a pretty light tractor (about 2000 lb ± 200 lbs). Increasing GPM would result in better FEL performance, but you may overstress the rest of the tractor so you may want to consider a 3xxx series machine.
The 790 is a value tractor and very good at what it was designed to do...but that means working within it's capabilities.

Depending on what you are looking to do, you could add a PTO pump?
