I have a JD 2305 that has always been an issue for my wife to operate. She is 5'4" and the tractor does not have enough fore/aft range in the seat adjustment for her. I am, finally, looking into fixing this. I have done some searching, and see that some people replaced the seat with something like the Grammer MSG65 seat. It appears that the Grammer has additional fore/aft adjustment on it, but I am not positive if that would solve the problem. Plus, it is more costly than what I am looking for. I'd like to hear how others have dealt with this issue on tractors. I don't see why manufacturers don't understand that their equipment may be operated by a variety of people. Especially the subcompacts.

Try putting a stadium cushion between her and the back of the seat. That 2" might be enough.

Take the seat rack off and redrill it closer to the back, This will move the seat forward a bit.

Both replies are good ideas. Thanks. I am pretty sure that I have to adjust the linkage of my joystick. See fel not curling down thread. I started to try and do the adjustment. The linkage is covered up by a plate and the plate has a screw that is under the seat rack. I may have to take the seat rack off to get at the linkage. I didn't do it back then because winter was coming and I REALLY need the snowblower in the winter, and the joystick was good enough for the chute control. Anyway, I am planning at trying to do that linkage adjustment in a few weeks, so I can look at modifying the seat rack at the same time. But, I'm going to try the stadium cushion in the meantime.

Sometimes the ergonomics of a tractor driver area is just not right.
My present MF 451 has an open station platform driver area.
If I adjust the seat so I can fully-depress the clutch pedal, I can't get my right foot between gearshift lever and seat. If I adjust the seat so I can get my foot through there, I can't fully depress the clutch pedal to disengage the PTO clutch.

I hope the stadium seat idea works for your DW.
