Power Scoop with hydraulic dump sure beats yanking a rope to dump.

I wonder why no one's though of this before?

The use of a power scoop is becoming quite popular here in Ireland.
They originated with the transport box which Cashels also list. Someone added hydraulic tilt and the power transport box was born.

They do however have a major flaw for use on compacts. The 3pt lift arms on most compacts do not have sufficient height to allow the box to tip to full dump angle. Cashels power scoop with the rounded base may overcome this to some degree, but I don't think they sell in smaller compact sizes.

The use of tipping arms as in the other post places the fulcrum point further back and gives a higher better angle of tip.

I made one of those from a fel bucket I bought at auction for $25. Took about $5 in spare parts and steel laying around and a couple of hrs welding and fitting and here is the results. OH yes it did take about 100 hrs of thinking about and enginering to make it work but I always spend alot of time THINKING about my projects.
I use it for ballest when I am moving sand from my pit and when I just load and dump it I can move about a yard at a time with it and my fel.

Great thread...When I got my new tractor (w/FEL) I sold my rear loader but kept my "bedding" bucket (Bucket options) ...I loved that bucket on the 3pth. Nothing like close to 3/4 of a yard of gravel "bedding" to help move some earth.
Anyway, when I saw the various pictures, using cylinders to dump the bucket seemed like a nice way to improve the operation of the rig (it had a hand trip originally). The prewelded pockets in the bucket are only 3" wide so I started looking for small diameter cylinders. The cylinders from the Surplus Center seem to be either somewhat pricey and have just a hole drilled through the end (Chief) or have a pressure rating (2,000 psi) less than my tractor system (2,500psi).

Any thoughts on an inexpensive way to come up with some small cylinders would be appreciated. They really don't have to do much work, the bucket is designed to be self-dumping.
