Implements for BX2200

Have new BX2200 and need implement advice. My plan is to work 3 acres for planting blackberries. This is Central Texas, with clayish soil, like "gumbo" but with good drainage. The implements I have now are a 4' box blade with 4 adjustable rippers and a 4' shredder. Would a "breaking" single bottom plow be useful and/or a disc/harrow? Would a "middlebuster" be useful? What steps would be the best to prepare the soil with mulch?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Steve--The plow and disc will work and the roto tiller will also do the job--I personally would go with the 48 inch roto tiller with slip clutch for your type soil and mulch incorperation and overall application. I have a LB1914 21 Hp Kioti 4x4 and 48" tiller that I purchased from sweettractors in Ky and had shipped in. I am doing a strawberry U-Pick project (2 acres). I did 3 rows of the "Hull" thornless blackberries in the garden a few years ago and I can tell You to save your back that you will need a tractor transplanter for the blackberry canes. If you do not have one already, Ken may have a used 3 point unit that could work for you. These people were a great help in getting me started with my strawberry project.

I have this 4' Howse disk harrow and I highly recommend it. I have not seen many larger disks for bigger tractors that work as well. This disk has a lower set of holes in the gang holders that lower the frame and match up great for the 2200. Steve, it sounds like you live in my neighborhood and your county extension agent has some good brochures on blackberries. I don't think anything special is required get them started. I dug up roots from mine and gave them to a neighbor to plant and that worked just fine. You only need to plant them a couple of inches deep in this soil; a little deeper in sandy soil. Of course, I just have a little blackberry patch about 4' wide and 50' long; can't imagine having to pick 3 acres of blackberries.
