A while back someone posted pictures of a really cool implement shed they made, but I can't find the thread. It had multiple levels, sort of like pallet storage racks built in. Does anybody remember that, and know where the thread is?

I remember one where the back 8' or so of the shed had two levels: ground and a continuous platform high enough above that to store implements below it. The platform had a deck made of 2x lumber--it would need some sort of joist support. IIRC the implements stored on the raised platform were on pallets or placed there with forks.

i'm sure you could have different platform heights as needed to fit the taller and shorter implements.

Pallet racks would never work for me. I need plenty of room to push and wrestle my qa stuff outside. After I shove them thru the outside wall I could drag the rack down as I back up.

:) I watched a guy push a die into a die rack. Problem was, he pushed another die out the other side. 20K lbs of steel hitting the floor will leave a mark. It wasn't a bad accident, nobody got hurt.

Part of the attraction I have to pallet racks is that they are real easy to put together and take apart. I've set up a several sections and then moved them within a year when I found more of an appropriate size. As I've written I've about 16 sections, most are 12' high. I've put them all up by myself, even the ones with four or five sets of beams.

I'd like to get good enough at welding so I could weld some 8' beams together to make a 12' beam. 8' beams are easy to find on CL, 12' beams are rare and twice the "cheap" cost of 8'ers.
