Hey All,

Getting ready to buy my tractor and the dealer has provided his prices for my first three implements. Can you give me an idea if he's giving me a good price given that I'm purchasing these with a 23K TC40D. Here they are:

Landpride RTA2072 72" Rotor Tiller - $2200.00
Landpride 84" Box Blade - $850.00
Rhino SE6 6' Rotary Cutter - $1200.00

Any comments on the size relative to tractor, opinions on better ideas for options / prices is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Well, those prices are better than the ones I got from my local dealers but, I have found some prices for First Choice attachments that are half of those you were quoted. Problem is, I have no dealers who carry FC around me so, I'd have to pay alot of shipping cost. I know some truckers and will ask around to see if I can find a ride for the implements.

The prices I mentioned can be found at www.carverequipment.com

I have only seen positive reviews of First Choice and Midwest attachments thus far. I hope that helps.

Are you sure you want to strap an 7' Landpride boxblade behind that NH tc-40? I think you'd probably be much happier w/the 6' model but this is merely a suggestion on my part. The weight of the unit really doesn't matter but when you add the extra dirt and an extra scarefire then it tends to "slow you down" from the lack of traction w/tires loaded or not.

I partially second that: I have a 72" scraper and get bogged down by roots in 4wd even with the R4 rear tires filled appx 600lbs each and 400lbs added to the axles (oh, and the loader). However, loose stuff like blue-stone gravel and semi-wet dirt are not problem at all.

$ 1,200 = SR185 Tiller
Is the lighter made Landpride tiller costing $1,000 more a better value than the CCM tiller?

Local dealers around here only sold the high $ implements, Woods, Bush Hog, Landspride, York - very nice stuff but pricey. I'm a homeowner who is going to use this stuff on occasion - not to make a living. Check out the Leinbach, IH (international harvester) implements - I am getting the rock rake, box blade, and rotary cutter. I havent seen them yet but they come highly recommended. Do a quick search - and you will see the dozens and dozens of posts.
Good luck.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Yes, I've dropped the BB down to 6', the cutter down to 5'. The original sizes were just offered by the dealer as I didn't specify any. It looks like the back end of the TC40 is around 66" so I'll probably drop down to a 66" tiller too.

I also see that there are better prices elsewhere.

I'd keep the cutter at 6'.

Not me. 7' rear blade. 6' box blade. 5' cutter.

6' vs 5' cutter???? I would consider what you intend to do. If you intend to do heavy brush cutting, the 5' is probably best. If you will be doing mostly mowing and only occasional brush cutting, you will appreciate the extra foot. I run a 6' at 27 PTO hp with very little problem except in very heavy grass. Then I just slow down a little. Cuts light brush and sapplings with no problem. You have an extra 8 hp or so, so you should have no problem at all.

I'd leave the sizes u had started w/.
I ran a 74" Bushhog tiller on a L2900 Kubota and the 35D plays w/ it. (yes we have clay w/ rocks).
I ran the 6' KK box blade behind the Kubota too but I also ran a 1000+ 10' box blade behind it too.
The 35D has no trouble w/ them.
Same w/ 6' brushhog.
F-I-L has a Landpride 3584 I might try on the 35D sometime.
U also have Hydro so u can slow down in tough spots.
Also the 2 speed cruise control is great.
