Nice paint jobs!

When I got the BX2350 I went on a campaign to revitalize my older attachements. BushHog, Grader blade & Rake all got "the orange treatment".

And anything new, like the FEL forks will, of course, get the Orange/Blck/Gray treatment.
Anyone find a good match to the Kubota Gray?
I used the Rustoleum "Painter's Choice" Dark Gray, it's close, but no Ceeegar.

48" BushHog, fully disassembled, wire brushed, new blades, new front seal, changed gear oil, painted and adjusted to level for new machine.

Rear grader blade, 20+ yr.s old, was 6 foot, cut down to 5 foot, disassembled, sand blasted, painted with new hardware.

The old rusty gear is comig back to life. :D

Just drive it over there. WA State law allows for driving farm tractors on public roads within a 15 mile diameter circle of your home.

Read about it in exclusions to the licensing provisions of the code of regulations.

It might take a while at 8 mph. I'm assuming 10 minutes away would be at 45 - 60 mph.

I have several implements that I would like to paint. What is the most efficient procedure in accomplishing this. I was thinking steel brush to remove loose rust. A general pressure washing, and maybe painting with an air sprayer. I have a 30 gallon 2hp air compressor. What tools do ya'll use. Will bare metal need a primer? Any particular brand paint suggested? It will be orange!

Bare metal will need a prime coat, for sure.

For non-finer things, after cleaning, I like going over the painted surfaces with some 220grit, followed by Deglosser. Makes the new paint bond a lot better.

I like to be able to do fast touch ups, so, spray can is fine with me. Ace Hardware caries "Equipment Paint" , and the orange is a fairly close match. Also have used the Chevy #200 Orange, which is even closer of a color match.

Someone posted in one of the paint threads about Rustoleum Charcoal Gray- IMO it is a perfect match for the Kubota gray. Used some on my 2007 BX24 on the ROPS..

I was trained in commercial spraying at my current job, the simplest way to prep a surface is with a simple scouring pad (scotchbrite in Australia), rub down the entire implement with the scourer to scuff up the surface and prep it for paint. Use gasoline as a cheap thinner and hit any rust spots with a wire brush and sand paper. Spray any bare steel with primer and then topcoat. Using a compressor without a dryer you need to be aware of water in the line will make for a horrible paint job. You'll need a high capacity compressor so you don't loose pressure half way through and a reasonable spray gun. Go to your local autoshop/auto paint supplier and talk to them about paint, as it varies depending on suppliers. Debeers is a top brand from holland. Expensive though.

Been redoing a bunch of stuff recently and found the easiest way was to hit it with the sand blaster (with a respirator on), then prime it with a brush. Then brush paint it - yes brush paint it. I was VERY VERY surprised to find that you can't see a brush mark - the implement paint is VERY thick and seems to just smooth itself out as it dries. When I did my post hole digger boom, it was slightly pitted in a few spots, and a little rough all over - after paint- it was VERY smooth with a nice shinny even coat. I was very pleased with the outcome.
