I have a 2005 Branson 4220 and the ignition no longer starts the tractor. I am able to start it with two screw drivers with the key in the on position. I asked about this at the dealer and they just told me that there could be several reasons why it won't start. I have not tried taking it apart yet, but he did mention that there could be three or four safety switches that could cause this as well as a faulty ignition switch. When it was working there was a noise that sounded like a fuel pump, perhaps, that stopped when the plug heater was done. Anyone have a diagram of the start safety switches or at least a description of where to look?

The lift pump and glow plugs should work when the key is turned on.
Lift pumps fail regularly and the auto parts stores sell a suitable replacement for around $50.
I would check the key switch with a volt meter or test light first.
For safety switches my 3510 has clutch and shuttle shift switches. They are easy to check.

PTO switch also has one on mine.
