In the past one could sleep on the mezzanine deck on chaise lounge chairs with overhead infrared heaters. Or anyplace else you could find on deck or in the lounges. There were also private accommodation cabins also available. Showers were available as well as cafeterias. Accommodations and services available were quite dependant on the size of the ferry.
In some cases the routes went through some very narrow passages providing close look at terrain. Sitting outside under shelter was a very unique experience. The sunlight, clouds, rain and fog along with sights of marine life & growlers could make your day.
