Tractor
Century 4057
I'm looking for some help from those who may know about Century. I bought a tractor several years ago. The Make clearly states it's a Century 4057 unknown year I'm assuming early 2000's. It has a 57 hp 2.59 liter Kukje engine (Model year 2002). I have had an issue with the slave master for the clutch and had two different people (tractor repair places) repair the master over the last three years. I contacted (Branson) over this tractor to search for a replacement. I gave century the serial number on the frame and they state it isn't their tractor and that century never made a 57 hp tractor. Maybe someone knows something about the Century model tractors and sources for parts. My four wheel is out technically have three wheel drive. I want to get this repaired but no one will touch it if they can not find parts.

Thank you Jeff for your reply. I have researched all the listings and been digging for a long time over this tractor. I've looked at the specs and pictures regarding all their models. I've even printed out a manual for the largest tractor Century supposedly made. Every feature and location of those features are consistent with the tractor I have all the way down to the markings paint and way the name and model is located on the tractor. I've replaced the air filters and bought filters for the century. I have no doubt this is a century. I post with hopes that someone knows more about this brand or that someone can direct me where more information is on this model. Thanks again Jeff

Sounds like it could possibly be a Branson 5730 but didn't think any were sold here in the US. It was the same as a 5530 or 6530 Branson that was sold here with the Kukje/Cummins A series or Komatsu/Cummins B series engine. Just remember that tractor off a poster I got when I first became a Branson dealer. It had a Kukje engine that was probably based off of a Yanmar engine like their 3T series engine was. Would be able to identify positively with a picture.

Your tractor is 1 of only 2 in the U.S. therefore you will not find any info on this model it is a 3 cylinder Kukje turbo engine and it is rated 57hp at pto the engine will produce close to 62hp these tractors were imported as test models and as i stated only 2 are in the U.S. they are great tractors good on fuel plenty of power with 540,750, and 1000 pto rpm no only parts that will interchange with these are from the branson 30 series 5530 and 6530 but only some transmission and front axle components the 5530 & 6530 both were built a few months apart from the 57hp models we decided to use the Cummins b3.3 in the 6530 and the a2300t in the 5530

Thanks Gary. This thread seams to be mute at this point. Saturday the tractor started blowing back radiator fluid. Not over heating.. does it within two minutes of the tractor running. All the trouble shooting done. pump working, thermostat taken out etc..etc.. A mechanic confirmed my fears, motor related possible head gasket...cracked head or block. No parts available for repair so it looks like this test model has seen it's life.

OUCH!
And I thought I had problems with my Mitsubishi. (tires no longer exist)

Say. if it proves to be head GASKET , some tricks could save you.
After all a gasket is a gasket.
Get proper materials and carefully make a new one. (like soft copper and careful cutting/trimming.) and lots of patience.

Gosh, if pulling the head ( without shredding the old gasket), adding some high temp sealants might be all it takes.

PILOON I appreciate your suggestions. I'm done with this tractor. All of the tractor repair businesses in my area will not work on it because the can't locate parts for it and won't tear the four wheel apart if they can't find parts. Can't find a new slave master and end up rebuilding it. **** It took me four years to find a hydraulic filter that fit. I understand their thought process fully.

It has been great and a power house when all is working. Knowing what I know now I'm not getting deeper into it. I've had it for four years now and have had to have the clutch slave rebuilt three times and it's again ready to crap out. The front wheel assist is out and I've had problems finding anything for it. I'm tired of it being down more then up especially in the summer when I need it the most.

I want to thank everyone who had input here. Time for a new tractor!

I traded the tractor in to Olson's Power Equipment in North Branch MN. I know they intend to Auction it off if your interested. Sorry I hadn't gotten back sooner but I haven't checked my email. Was in need of a tractor and resolve that.

Branson, I see this tractor up for auction at Hiller auction in Zimmerman, MN. Hiller Auction Auction is Saturday June 23rd.

I might have been tempted to bid on this. My wife gets a little crazy at auctions, and that can mean an opportunity to buy something I want. But after reading this thread, it seems this may be worse than my IH 444 that I keep having trouble with.
