There are also other services that let you make actual phone calls online... like http://www.dialpad.com and http://www.pagoo.com... then you can call a number online, instead of going chat client to chat client. I have tried one of them once, and know someone who uses dialpad all_the_time... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

First I have to admit that almost anyone on this board knows more about computers than I do. One of the things I've noticed about this place is that not only are there some savy people here, but they also have a knack for breaking things down so that even a computer dunce like me can understand it. The recent thread on digital photography is a case in point. Rare and appreciated.
Now a true story. I use AOL and have the IM thing, which I never use. A few months back all of a sudden, I start getting a bunch of weird IMs from weird people. While some were rather entertaining, after awhile it was a nusance. Finally I contact AOL, I thought that somehow I was getting someone elses IMs. They told me that was not possible, and after checking discovered that someone had cracked my account and was using it. They had me change my password, and suggested I change it more frequently. Well, live and learn.
