the total mower was under water .... but once i knew there was no way out of ending up in the pond, due to the sled phenomenon, of the ZTR on steep hills, i had the foresight to turn the engine off. therefore i only had to change all the fluids. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I see. So it didn't suck water down the carb. At least you had the mind to shut it off. That's grace under pressure! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

ok, I'll ask the obbvious question - why were you on ice in April in PA? Had to have quite a few warms days prior to that (at least one too many /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Ha! I don't know about April in PA, but I have been on safe ice as early as Thanksgiving and late as March 9 in northern Indiana.

if you look at my first post you see i have an aversion to Kohler engines near any water (in whatever composition, liquid, gas or frozen). there was no ice, just cold water, steep hill, wet road and grass clippings on the road. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'll bet it was cold... the water around here doesn't warm up until July. Brrr..
