Ice fishing surprise.

/ Ice fishing surprise. #2
Whoa that's crazy!Reminds me of the time I was returning home from work one spring and found an adult Loon that had landed in the road.It was unhurt but couldn't take-off of course. We took it to the nearest water and released it.

The fellow is quite lucky that he was not injured by the bird. I've see a man come very close to loosing an eye when releasing a loon from a monofillament gill net.

My crazy bird story.
Daughter call me to say a large bird is in her fireplace.
I grabbed a fish net and managed to retrieve an adult wood duck that had 'dropped in'.
We went to the lakeside and washed all the soot off and he/she flew away without even a thank you.

(Wood ducks are known to nest in hollow trees so we suspect it was a female looking to nest. They are the only duck that lands on trees.)

You all know of catch and release fishing, well we catch/release hunt! LOL (should I say trap)
