Tractor
Kubota BX2200
I was at my local dealer yesterday picking up a new regulator for my B9200 so while there I decided to kick the tires of what he had on the lot. It's been a while since I've done it and it was neat to see what he had there. Boy, when I win the lottery I'm need to get me one of those L5030 cab models with a FEL. Let those yellowjackets try to get me then. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The tractor that really caught my eye was the L3400 HST. It was a little bigger than the B7800 and B3030, yet smaller than the Grand L series like the L3130. It would be just about perfect size for what I need, but then I found its downfall....no mid pto. I have well over a hundred trees that I mow around in my yard, so a RFM is out of the question. I wish it had an optional mid pto. With a 72" MMM it would be a great setup for me.

I wish the same thing, something in between the B3030 and the L3130 with mid mower options and some of the other features that the two have. We have test drove both and my wife and I both feel the L3130 is nice but is too big to mow the lawn and around trees with. We felt the B3030 would suit our needs but are reluctant to buy with talk of the vibration problems users are experiencing. The other issue is that the dealer quoted less than $2000 difference between the two. We are not sure what to do. Anybody know if Kubota is addressing the vibration issue or has plans to develop a new product for release next year, please post.

According to a post on the Kubota Owners forum .....

Kubota is aware of the problem and there is a fix in the works. The first mention of the problem was back in May so it should not be too far away.

Other than this issue the tractor is a great machine.

I wish I had a L-3400 HST too, I find myself drawn to that model whenever I go tractor looking (one of my favorite past-times) /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yes, the green board is kicking the butt of the orange board on leaking out news of ’06 models, makes one wonder if orange has got anything on the way at all. What do you say orange? I wish for a 7510 sized machine with more power (24-26-28HP?) position control, option of 72” mid-mount (for more deck stick out) a clutch that does not disengage the mid PTO or a cruise with resume mounted fingertip close on the wheel or fender, smooth as a BX2230 or JD2210, a loader that goes 12-18” higher (like your competition or the Koykers) and while I'm designing your next model, perhaps a front mount mower that floats and attaches to the loader arms for times we need a front mount, but most of all, AIR CONDITIONING. The animals get out to run in the cool of the morning and evening which leaves me cutting grass in the heat of the day in Fl. Now those things might be worth the price. Actually if you would add a loader to your F2560/3060 you might have the ultimate machine.

Haven’t tried a B3030 but they sure look great with that cab calling me air cond....air cond... but have read with interest about the vibration. Made me wonder if it was similar to my experience with a JD4110 vs. JD2210, both are supposedly the same engine (according to numbers, tech wise I have no idea) but I was turned off instantly by the vibration of the 4110 and the 2210 was very smooth, one would never believe they were the same engine. I guess it was isolation rather than engine? I assumed a 4cyl Kubota would be smoother than a 3, but there are comments one the operation board that if accurate might disprove that.

I am actually going to get to go to the Kubota national dealers meeting this year (its in San Antonio) and see all the new stuff. I will have a camera with plenty of memory to allow for posting of lots of pictures!

There have been some rumours on the Kubota boards a while back of a replacement for the BX and also a rumor of a B7510/7610 sized TLB similar to the BX23. Something like the B7510 sized TLB might give me a reason to trade in my BX23. Rumors can be fun to talk about - we could always just make some up /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

October 1st - 4th, I think, I did not bring my laptop home today so I don't have access to my Outlook calender.

Here is what little I know. BX1500D going away. BX series will change to BX1850, BX2350, and BX23 changing to BX24. None of it will be available untill next march or april is the target date. If they act according to history that truly means may or june. No changes I know of on the B series, or L series.

A BX24? Any insight into what changes are being made between the BX23 and the BX24?

Is there any way you can put a bug in their ear to add a mid-pto to the L3400? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I did not hear anything about it but will pay close attention to it for future notice!

Curved FEL booms or curved Backhoe boom? The tractor bug has really got me - I haven't bought a new implement in a while and lately I keep trying to come up with a reason why I need a new tractor. I need a fix - please tell me more /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Backhoe boom. Keep in mind that it won't be available probably untill April or May of 2006.
