When cylinder rods are fully extended, like when the bucket is fully curled and angled toward the back of the tractor, the cylinder rods are at their most vulnerable position.

Just made me aware of how I was putting pressure on the FEL and it's components.

As long as you don't start trying to dig out, roots, stumps or rocks back bladeing with a full curl you'll be fine. I only mentioned in an earlier post so others might avoid what I did with my last tractor 3 times. I was able with my 20 ton press to straighten the rams each time but you have to pull them apart to do it. Also they can only have a slight bend not like the posted pic.

Well done, that's impressive! :thumbsup: Were you able to get them straight enough to have no leakage past the gland seals on the rod ends of the cylinders?

Yes Threepoint over 30 years ago I bent a dipper ram on a case backhoe and had a machine shop straighten it for me and watched closely how they did it so yrs. later was able to do my own. Seals are very for giving if the surface is smooth and your within ?( maybe 4-5-10 thou.I don't really know) . But none ever leaked because of being straightened.

I've happily never bent a ram but am I right in thinking the design Kioti uses with their loaders (the ram doesn't push on the bucket itself) makes it a bit less likely to getting bent?
