Thanks: Coyote Machine, Eric the oracle and all posters for their help thus far.

When I spoke to EA they said the same thing, they were thinking that there maybe some issue with the spool or machining of the cavity. I will know more tomorrow once they have talked to WR Long. I am thinking that it will end up being a warranty issue that has to be replaced. I am just worried about what the damage might be to the tractor itself.

Not at all entertaining, upset with murphy's law. Anytime I have a project starting it seems I have 40 extra things added to make it more complex. This all started because I am clearing brush to put in a pond and new workshop. So of course something has to go wrong to make me appreciate the progress more.

You're welcome.
It'll be fixed soon and you'll be back at your pond project sooner than later. Then things will get real interesting. Downtime is better now then busy spring summer seasons, yes?

Well here we get 1 month of fall and 2 weeks of winter so all year is a busy season, but the rainy season is our downfall this year we have had an unusual winter with getting 16 inches of rain in 2 months. so you can imagine everything is a pond right now. But that's South Florida for you. If you don't like the weather wait 10 min. :D

Re: I think I broke something....

So here is where we are right now. I have spoken to WR Long and received new copies of the diagrams for the 3rd function valve. After getting under the tractor while on the phone with the technician from WR Long (very knowledgeable) we found the start of all problems. One that admittedly I should have looked at but really didn't think too:duh:. The valve when installed was plumbed wrong, and the way the hoses were zip tied unless you ran your hand along the hose you wouldn't see it:confused3:. But I digress the tank line was run to the power beyond and the power beyond was run to the tank. This in turn caused reversed flow in the unit and an over pressurization of the valve causing the weakest link (the plug O-Ring to push out and Leak ) This then caused all symptoms related to the grapple and the cylinders deadheading and dropping the RPM's. Next as the tractor was being operated by me and I didn't know the leak was present the system was pulling air into the hydraulic system. While working the fluid got hot and as it heated the air began to break up in the fluid then was pulled into the pump. When I shut it down and let it sit all that air began to separate out of the fluid again and pushed up in the HST system and a cavitation of the HST pump[ ensued causing the over pressurization which was bogging down the RPM's when trying to drive. This as near as the dealer can figure is also what caused the other hydraulic functions to stop working, too much air in the fluid. When I preformed the bleed off it helped the 3pt, loader and steering because they were cylinders but not the HST. The Kioti tech that the dealer is working with believes that the HST will need to be run to remove the trapped air from the HST system. Because I do not want a warranty voiding issue I told the dealer that I would rather he operated the tractor and get the air out. So if he blows out any seals of breaks something its on them. So there it is in a nut shell. I will keep you informed as the dealer makes progress with the HST but the 3rd function and grapple are functioning normal again.

Re: I think I broke something....

Wow! Some screw-up on the installer's part for sure. There are advantages to having a dealer do the work on a machine- especially when it is new- if they screw-up- it is on them, Doesn't happen every day, but when it does- it's their problem- not yours. Good idea to let them resolve it completely- make sure the paperwork reflects exactly what they did wrong- at what hours, etc. Reversing the flow through the HST can't help it function as intended, especially with all the air and heat of the foaming hyd fluid.Hopefully no permanent damage was done.

My dealer took full responsibility for his mistake, and too his credit the instruction he had were somewhat ambiguous as to what was being connected where. One of the statements was something like "remove power beyond line from loader control assembly connect one side of 2 ft. hose provided, connect end of hose to line marked T then connect short hose to line marked P." So he was confused and got them backwards. But he admitted his mistake and Kioti and him have said any resulting damage will be covered, So really you cant ask for more.

If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck, I was going by the store yesterday and I was going to buy a lottery ticket.... Then I said I should just keep the money with the way this week went I am not winning anything.

Great to hear this is being sorted out I know it will be a big relief to have your tractor back and working right!

Unfortunate that the installer didn't fundamentally understand the hydraulic flow and how the system worked. FWIW, if a person can read an electrical diagram, learning how to read hydraulic diagrams is easy. Here is a link to a PDF document I used to teach myself how to read hydraulic diagrams.

Incidentally, the dealer should not use teflon tape to seal the NPT fittings on hydraulic systems as a chunk of tape could come loose and clog up a hydraulic passage or orifice.

Using a hydraulic thread sealer is preferred.

It's great that the dealer is taking full responsibility, as he should. But I'm not so impressed by the confused by the directions reasoning. The directions you posed are not complicated, IMHO, and anyone having done any remote or diverter valve work should be able to hook up a add on like yours no problem. If there was confusion as to what went where they needed to do their due diligence and find out exactly what is the correct way- from various sources available to them.
And certainly should not have given the tractor back to you until full function was verified.
Nonetheless, I get that they are going to fix it for you- lucky for all it didn't, from what can currently be discerned, do any serious damage.

Wishing you and your tractor a speedy recovery and back to work!

Re: I think I broke something....

Final update to this thread:

Tractor is home and running normal again, actually the FWD and REV seem to have less of a delay so that was a benefit:dance1:. The dealer ended up draining and replacing all fluid and had to replace a seal he thought looked damaged. The O-rings in the valve were repaired, and now I'm up and moving again.

Thanks again for all the help and troubleshooting.

On a side note I was grading the road yesterday and without any force the mirror and bracket just fell off. I looked at it and appears the weld was not made deep enough upon assembly. Time to break out the welder I guess.
