Buying Advice I pulled the trigger!

   / I pulled the trigger! #24
I remember reading some members here had a hard time getting parts.. mahindra makes their own engines..

I will give you my experience as a past Mahindra owner and current John Deere and Kubota owner. I owned the Mahindra for over 12 years and the local dealer had every part and maintenance item I ever needed in stock. I have only owned the Kubota for 1.5 years and the local dealer had had every item I need in stock. On the other hand I have had wait several times for parts for my JD at a larger corporate dealership.

I see a lot of folks refer to Mahindra as a second or third tier tractor and question parts availability. My experience with my Mahindra was positive. The only part I replaced in 12 years that was not caused by me was a fan belt and a couple of batteries.

I would have bought another Mahindra but the models I was interested in had plastic fenders and I prefer metal tractors.

Exactly my thoughts! A battery or two and a fuel line was the extent of my down time on two Mahindra’s. I looked long and hard at all brands this time again and chose this one in part to solid, heavy duty metal fenders on the 6000 series.

You'll like that series! Those tractors are beasts. Just an FYI, i have a friend that owns a Mahindra dealership and he says the 6075 and the 6065 tractors are identical other than computer tune. So after warranty expires if you decide you need more HP, they can reflash the computer and get a little more out of them.

@MUDONTHETIRES and @buck12, thank you for sharing your experiences. We have a Mahindra dealer in town 4-5 miles from the property. His rep is stellar in the community. So, we are thinking that when/if/shoud we need another machine, we would strongly look to the Mahindra products. We have the Massey at 33HP.. but we are thinking a 50-60hp machine might be better suited for the land we have and plans we are evolving. I hope to see more posts about these tractors. It helps in decision making. I don't expect us to make a decision for more than a year. We are good for this year. But if a great deal showed up at our gate? We might take advantage of it.
