David, I am sincerely sorry you are considering this step, but don't beat yourself up and don't blame yourself for your marriage being a "disaster" as you term it. From what I have observed here on TBN you appear to be one h*** of a decent, hard working guy who appreciates his family. As one who just went through a divorce himself, I can assure you there are always two sides to every story and I think you should give yourself some credit for what you have done for your wife and kids during your marriage.

I feel sympathy for you but you need to get your priorities sorted out. And if you think buying your wife a big house is going to save your marriage then you are in for another disappointment. I really think you should get some professional counseling to sort this out.

I don't understand what goes through a persons brain when they feel like it's their job to insult others and tell them how to live their lives. Who are you to tell anybody what they should do with their lives, how to relax or spend their down time? Since you know have taken it upon yourself to decide how much time we are allowed to spend on here, what is the proper number of posts a person should have and how many minutes a day become too much to spend on here?

Sure does and the fact is no matter how many posts we read or PM's we exchange with David, without sitting down with him and his wife, possibly kids and spending hours interviewing them, none of us knows why he is where he is or how he might rectify the issues or even if he can.

I have been involved in this and worked with many counselors/therapists etc. over the years and we have a TBN member who did marriage and family counseling professionally and it is really, really involved and even the professionals have mixed results.

Your diagnosis of TBN addiction is problematic and he is on here while his farm is falling apart around him is overly simplistic and based on little and limited facts. How many happily married men spend more time than that watching sports, going out to bars, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling etc.?

I do agree seeing someone is a good idea if you can find someone you can trust and afford. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there practicing who are not much good.

Eddie, I didnt see it as my job to insult anyone, but when a person comes on to TBN and broadcasts their problems to everyone they are inviting a response. They are asking for advice. I gave mine honestly without a sugar coating.
