I messed up the impossible on my 2210

I guess I wasn't as clear as I wanted to be. I was assuming that Wickman's stand was still down and that he couldn't get the boom up higher using the hydraulics (I've had this happen to me -- the area I store my loader is behind my shed, it is covered with bark mulch. So the two feet of the loader stand don't dig in, I rest them on a 4x4. Because the two feet are rounded, they have slipped off). I actually was suggesting that two friends lift the loader and block the stand. Then when everyone is out of the way, use the hydraulics. Again, this might not be the situation Wickman experienced, but it might be.

Safety first!

Cheers

JD,

Ah, now I understand what you were saying. Sorry, I'm a bit slow /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. I was just concerned that some one might take it that you were suggesting helpers be moving the loader while the tractor was running. Probably no one else misinterpreted. Hopefully all is back in place by now.

Just my 2 cents but I would put a bunch of weight in the bucket, then when you raise it it should force the front frame engagement point out.

Thanks all for the support. I haven't 'freed' the loader yet but I will attempt it again tonight. For clarification the front feet are in the up position and I could lock the pins if I tried but they are unlocked at the moment. I'm not afraid of scratching paint but am afraid of breaking or bending something. I also don't want to hurt myself in the whole process. If it doesn't work itself free tonight I'm going to call the dealer and have them take care of it as well as a couple of other warranty issues before my two years runs out.

Thanks again,

wickman

wickman,

Did you get the masts back on?

Something I missed in your picture is that it looks as though you're on cement. That probably doesn't provide much drag on the bucket. When I've been in a similar situation with the masts, my bucket has been on dirt, providing enough drag for me to tweak the bucket's curled and lift. This has allowed me to back up, or just roll back (neutral) as the bucket dug in and forced the masts back up onto the support beam.

That said, I guess I'd try "beenthere's" approach of chaining to a tree if you can get to one or, just take a small wedge of wood under, or over, a pry bar, wedging it between the beam and the mast and lift one side at a time (this being a one person variation of JDFanatic's "two friends" approach). Shouldn't take much to lift a side up and forward. Good luck and go slow and safe, however you proceed.

I have had this occur twice on my 2210 / 210 loader during install. I got out of it without problem by following the removal proceedure and then re mounting the loader. Mine appeard to be stuck but working the scv I managed to get it off.

It sounds like yours is really stuck. Is it possible that you did not approach the loader straight on ? I think that was my problem.

Good luck.

I managed to fix my issue over the weekend so I'll post my 'resolution.' In fact I could have bypassed this golden learning opportunity if I would have just done the prescribed maintenance that the manual spells out quite clearly. BAsically the adjustment bolts on the FEL loosened up enough to slip jst enough to mess up the loader when I put it on the last time. The FEL was bound up this time by the front point where the latches engage. I simply loosened the volts more and worked the SCV until the front feet dropped. Then I installed the FEL again like the manual says in the assembly section, tightening the bolts at the end. If I just would have tightened the bolts according to the maintenance schedule then I would been OK.

Thanks for all the help,

wickman

Glad the fix was quick and painless! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

wickman,

Glad you got it on with no mishap. Thank you for posting the "cure". I think I'd better re-read my FEL manual to see what maintainence, other than grease and lube, I should be doing on a regular basis.
