The check valve prevents any movement without pressure supplied from the control valve. You will not move it by hand.

I was trying to be tactful and investigative...;-)

Hurlimann 435 Prince
Wow... never heard of that tractor. Guess it's not a common US brand.
I spent my money on American made W.R. Long assemblies.
$1245 for the full set... top and tilt with everything needed to install. Pre-engineered for my specific tractor (Yanmar 359C).
Did you know Vevor sells SBC heads too LOL. Not kidding.
Don't get me wrong, I do order from Vevor occasionally for some things they don't make here, I just like W.R Long stuff.
I do feel better knowing my money stayed in America for this purchase.
And yes... my equipment isn't all US made.

Fair enough. I would recommend checking out Fit Rite next time. Small operation run by one of our own. Custom made to your specs.

I have no affiliation other than the owner posts good stuff on here and deserves our support.

I purchased a hydraulic top link off of Amazon for $180 for my Kubota. It also had a built in check valve and came with the hoses as well. It's been on the tractor for over two years now with zero issues and has never even leaked down one time. Well worth the money I spent!

Do you know if W.R.Long manufactures hydraulic cylinders?

Well heck you aren't that far from me. I'm just south of Ben Wheeler.

Never used a hydraulic top link so this question may be a little naive. How do you hook up to your implement if the link is not exactly the correct length? I can't reach the levers (have a cab) to move it hydraulically from outside the cab. I guess you could go back and forth until the cylinder is in the correct position but that seems like a lot of bother. With the rigid link it is quite simple to use the turnbuckle feature to extend/retract to get the desired length. I'm assuming that the hydraulic version does not have a mechanical method (threaded ball end) to move the connection point in or out. I definitely can see the advantages of the hydraulic link once it is connected if it stays in a set position.

You have to operate the hydraulics to move the top link into adjustment but it's not hard at all on my ROPS tractor. May be more difficult on a cabbed tractor.

Haven't installed mine yet but my Yanmar YT359C cab tractor does have rear quarter windows that open so I'll have to see if I can reach the levers through the window.

With that said, even not being able, you can see the link from the cab and get it close enough I believe.

But you only have that issue on hookup... the advantage while using the implement way outways the initial hookup.
