I spotted this 1250 on Craigslist about 6 miles from here. It's from the 70s, the retired owner had it for years and his hobby is restoring garden tractors. It has original decals and I saw "before" pictures, really good condition. The quick attach 44" mower deck I'm getting with it. Kohler 12hp hydrostatic drive. It runs like new.
He also has a 1000 10hp manual for sale.
Cast iron differential, heavy duty throughout.
I needed it like a hole in the head!

I had the 1250 before getting my 1811 - very nice machine you found! Looking at the pics I see two different machines - the gear and the hydro - did you buy both?

Beautiful job. Reminds me of my first Cub, a 1978 1450 with 44 inch deck. They were built by IH back then and not MTD.
