I thank you all for the kind words and for the business! It’s a pleasure helping you out.
I set up the last JonCutter I had in stock for my wife. I put the 12” Nano kit on it for her.
I placed another sizable order of these last week so they should be here by mid October. I’ll keep you updated.
My Jon Cutter arrived! Well packed and everything is just fine! Eager to run it soon!
I was looking through the manual before running it and it says to check the muffler arrestor screen? I got covers off and down to the muffler but could see "Nothing" of any screen? Where would it be and how does one go about checking it?
I'm just trying to locate any/everything I may someday need to check - now while everything is clean and not heat tightened. Also, in the tool bag were three wrenches (self explanatory for usage) but there was a long thin metal rod in a plastic wrapper that I've no idea of its function. I used the search and found nothing for either question. Perhaps this way I may learn a new thing?! Thanks wizards! Greg

I think that rod is a file

BTW, the manual says to use a 25:1 mix. A little birdie told me 40:1 with a high quality oil like Echo Red Armor or Amzoil is just fine. I've had two saw builders tell me to run 40:1 Red Armor in everything. Neither spoke well of Stihl Ultra.

No screen. I think all those companies photo copy OEM manuals and do very little editing.
And as mentioned, the rod is indeed the file for the chain.

Thanks to all who answered my questions! Glad to learn there is no screen - thought I was pretty dense when I couldn't find one! I saw the 25:1 gas ratio and knew I wasn't going to follow that. My search here gave me the 40:1 answer I thought was correct. The thin metal rod - if I'd taken it out of the plastic wrapper I'd probably have seen that it was in a "File"! And that makes sense as all the other items were tools!
Thanks Greg

Let us know what you think after you've had a chance to use it.

My next shipment of 2511s arrive Monday. Going to be a busy week.

I purchased what I thought was a 2511 from Amazon, but I was in a rush to get to an appoint and didn’t realize I actually ordered the JonCutter G2500, for the same $99 price. When I compare it to all the pictures posted on this page it seems very similar in size to the 2511, but I’m wondering if I should return it and get the 2511 after all the great reviews you guys are giving it. Does anyone here have both saws or know anything about the G2500, is worth hanging on to? I like how the air filter is bolted to the carburetor, it seems like a more robust design than the 2511 and I also like how the fuel and oil tank assembly is translucent, so you can visually see the fluid levels. Please let me know your thoughts.

2500 25.4cc is about a 1lb + heavier at 6.6lbs then 2511. It is after the old zenoah design.

It was fine too. But after running 2511 I'll never own another one. Big difference in handling.

Talking about harder to get parts for = 2500.

Thank you for your response, I appreciate the information. I think I am going to keep it, the extra 1 pound in weight is a small compromise for a better air filter design and translucent fuel and chain oil tanks. Not sure what year the saw in your photos is, but they have changed a few things on their latest saw. The fuel tank assembly has a different shape and the break assembly cover is now a 2 piece design.

IMHO buy another to have for parts supply. 99 is cheap for any saw shipped.

My older one cost about 40 more then that way back. I would have to look for a old thread when it was.

Zenoah did a US version in husky too. But again parts just not out there. I tried for folks in past.

Found it in thread. Jan 2021 is when I got the older version.

Here is the husky zenoah version they had done for them.

I was under the impression parts for the 2511 were also hard to get, is that not the case?

Lot more then what you got going there on a 2500.

What dont work from OEM you buy a whole other saw once again.

Drums and some other smalls do work from OEM. Air filter base from OEM with air filter works too. Mufflers, tank vent and tank vent grommet etc etc.
OEM or even bigger clone carb like oem size works too on these clones.

I still wonder if the clutches swap on cranks or not. Never tried it from my OEM and clones ones to date.

The threads are different. I think the weights and springs swap though.

I know you sometimes have saws to cannibalize for parts. Are you able to get parts from the manufacturer?

The new batch has arrived! This time they come with a factory serial number tag.
I’ve got a few pre-orders to fill then I can take new ones. Friday and Saturday I’ll be at the October Sawfest chainsaw races in Marysville Ohio then back at the bench next week.
