Instead of trying to pump it out, which may or may not work, what about jetting water into the pipe? I'd probably try it with half inch PVC. I'm not sure if I'd put a tip on the end, or leave it open. I'd try it open first and just start shoving pipe into the hole with the garden hose attached to the end and the water running. The water coming out of the end of the pipe will clean out what's in there and force it back up and out of the pipe.

If you did this, you might want to make the pipe in the ground longer so that what comes out of it, doesn't go back down into it again.

Do you have water available to do this? hahaha Might not even be an option.

Dig down a little deeper maybe there is a casing for the well. 40 to 60 years ago the pump would use a sucker rod to pull the water to surface. and the pump was driven by a geared pump shaft. These rods were made of wood and a metal joint every 20' and some times would untwist and fall to bottom of well. Then only method was to pull total pipe out of well. 80' of 2 inch pipe and filled with water can get heavy. seek advide from some one that has this experance. Or a wraped chain around pipe and use front end loader to lift pipe to check movement. but then could drop the pipe if not careful farther into the well.
Also 40 years of rusty pipe there isn't much to work with. the sucker rod had a check valve to hold water from going back into well.
It would require large pipe wrenches, slimy slick pipe and rust. good clamping tools to hold pipe from going back into well when lift is relesed for new hold to continue raising.
Experance is a great teacher. Losing the pipe makes a sickening slurp going into the well
