My question for the day is "What is the model number / type transmission of the Tuff Torq rear end on the JD 2305?" I cannot seem to locate this particular tidbit of information.

In order to get technical information on the "transmission," it seems a necessary first step is to know the model number, i.e. K92, for it.

Joe, The FSM (Factory Service Manual) CD is only about $60 or so and is full of great info including color pictures and a "theory of operation" section for each major component of the machine-definitely worth the investment

I have no idea what the number is for the tranny from TuffTorq, I am sure it's proprietary though so any info on it would have to come from JD.

I believe it is the kanzaki k92. they are part of Yanmar.
