I am in the middle of changing my hydro fluid and filter on my l2900 w gst. My ? is the new filter has a magnet where it screws on. It is removable. The old filter did not have a magnet. It does not look like it would block the flow too much. Is it ok to leave the magnet or should I remove it? Thanks

Leave the magnet, it will catch some small metal particles.

Just make sure that the magnet from your old filter isn't already stuck to the filter housing when you screw the new one on.

Thats right. The magnets pull out fairly easily. It could be stuck on the tractor like RedSox1 said. I got a new filter with a broken magnet once. I just swapped the broken one for the old one and was suprised how easy they came off.

Thanks guys. I looked and there was not any magnet on tractor or filter. If there was a magnet stuck on the tractor I can not see the new filter being able to screw all the way on. Just another ? Is there any way to see if this was the original filter it was gray just like the frame of the tractor and did not say kubota on it just some #s on it. Just out of curiosity. Thanks

My L3130 did not have the magnet on the hydro filter that came with the tractor. Replacement filter did. Upgrade or response to a problem?
