Hello everyone! I am new to TBN. Been looking here for about a month, and everyone seem to help each other out.

I like to know if you guys can help me out with a hydraulic question. The bed on my dump truck stutter on the down stroke, but smooth out about 1/3 of the way. What do you guys think the problem is. I just bought it about a week ago. I know this is not about tractors, but it is the same concept.

If it’s anything like my dump truck, (Chevy) that’s not a problem … actually helpful. it will help shake the crumb out of the box while it’s still at full dump …

My lift will do that until the box gets low enough to put more weight on the cylinder ram. If it really bothers you just loosen the seal jam nut on the rod a little. KennyV

Typically these are single acting hydraulics, pushes up, let's gravity pull it back down. When the bed is all the way up, there is little weight on the rams, and they simply are slow to come down, and often 'chatter' like that. No big deal. Just typical operation.

Thanks for the input. I guess thats normal. I know am off topic. But the reason I bought dumptruck is because I need something big to tow the tractor. I don't have a tractor yet. But am shopping around. I am really interested in NHTC29/33.

Do you guys know anything about detroit diesel 8.2l (1986) ?
