I am sure this has been discussed many times. I have a mahindra 4025 with a frount end loader. I have a quick attach grapple. I will not use the Grapple often and dont want to put alot of money into 3rd funtion remotes, and single button controllers.

my question is can I just add a single spooler control to operate the opening and closing of the grapple by just teeing off the pressure and suction lines that go to the spooler control for the front end loader?

If this is not possible what the the next low cost option? There are not aux hydralic ports.

You can not tee into pressure side of the valve.

If your FEL valve has PB, you add a single spool valve with PB, in series and work the grapple.

You could do the diverter valve thing, or the 3ed function valve also.

Another question. What type of single spool valve do i need. I know if my FEL valve has a PB the new valve needs a PB. What do you recommend as far as open, closed, float, spring lever, etc?

This is the information im looking for advise on.

GPM
Open center or closed center system
PSI
Do you need power beyond
Spring to Center or Float?

http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/006/2/9/6294-mahindra-4025.html

Hydraulics:
Type: open center
Valves: 0 or 1
Total flow: 8.29 gpm [31.4 lpm]
Steering flow: 4.8 gpm [18.2 lpm]

You need PB to pass fluid downstream for other valves.

Most levers on valves are spring to center.

Float is on the end of the spool and allows the bucket to follow the conture of the ground.

Psi is probably around 2500 to 3000.

i mounted a grapple on my NH785 diesel skidsteer...then the long cylinders leaked under load...I've had them rebuilt and installed ...how do I bleed the system? the aux-hydraulic handle is stuck in the close grapple position and the main arms are resting on the safety pins...pressing the up pedal will not raise the arms off the safety pins. For a problem like this you need to start a new thread in the CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT FORUM.

Click this link, Construction Equipment , then click + Post New Thread , Put "NH785 Skidsteer Need Help" in the Title , Then enter your questions.

Good luck.

Grapple was delivered and i am going to try and hook up this weekend. I have attached a picture of my FEL controller. Any help on how to connect the new single spool controller to the FEL controller would be greatly appreciated. tractor Hyd.jpg

If your single spool grapple valve has PB, then add the single spool valve after the FEL valve.

Thanks JJ. I m going to get single spool valve tomorrow and will make sure it has a PB.
My current FEL valve controller has a PB hose, a pressure hose and a return hose connected to it.
What is the proper way of connecting the hoses fin the FEL valve to the grapple single spool valve?
Any certain valve you recommend getting?

For a simple installation, some people use this solenoid valve with a DO3 subplate.

Surplus Center - 12 VDC 10 GPM OC DA SOLENOID VALVE

It is certified for high pressure and can be mounted after the FEL PB

Requires a switch on the FEL handle.

Diverter type valve, diverts the bucket tilt flow into grapple flow.

If you want a lever type valve, then something like this.

Surplus Center - 1 SPOOL 8 GPM PRINCE MB11B5C1 DA VALVE

Surplus Center - 1 SPOOL 14 GPM PRINCE WVS11B5C1 DA VALVE

Hydraulics:
Type: open center
Valves: 0 or 1
Total flow: 8.29 gpm [31.4 lpm]
Steering flow: 4.8 gpm [18.2 lpm]

I am going to get the Spool you recommended JJ, 1 spool 14 GPM Prince WVS11B5C1 DA Valve. I assume i will also need the PB / Closed center sleeve WVS Valve to go with it.

From what i gather this is how i will connect the two.
1. move the hose that is connected to the PB port on FEL controller to the PB port on the new single spool controller.
2. connect a new hose to the PB port on the FEL controller and then connect it to the IN /ressure port of the new single spool controller.
3. connect a new hose to the out/return port on new single controller and T it into the return hose off the FEL controller.

Does this sound correct or am I way off?

Remove the PB hose from the FEL PB port.

Connect a PB hose from the FEL PB to the IN port of the new valve.

Connect the hose removed first to the PB adapter on the new valve.

Run a hose from the OUT port to a tank/return line.

Your flow path should be like this, pump, FEL valve, new valve, 3pt , tank.

I got the Prince Wolverine #WVS11B5C1 DA Valve and the PB Sleeve to go with it.
The valve has 2 work ports, a Inlet port, and a side and top outlet port.
Question is which port do I put the PB sleeve in?
I know I run a hose from the PB port of the old valve to the inlet port of the new valve
which outlet valve on the new valve do i connect the hose for the 3pt lift to?

I have attached a drawing for the FEL valve and the new valve i am adding.
any help on connecting correctly would be greatly appreciated.

Using that valve with out the PB adapter, the top port would be the OUT port, and a plug is in the bottom port.

So when you install the PB adapter in the top port, the bottom port becomes the OUT port.

The port that the PB adapter fits in should have a seat inside the port where the PB adapter seals off the out port.

To test out the valve before you run hyd through it, use air in the IN port, and air should come out the PB port only with lever in neutral.

If you push the lever fully, air should come out one of the work ports.

Thanks JJ I think I understand it now.

Put the PB Adapter in top out port and connect hose from that port to my 3pt lift
run hose from bottom out port to return line tee
Run hose from PB port on FEL valve to In port on new valve.

JJ I receibved the PB sleeve for the valve. The PB sleeve will only fit in the bottom Out port that is currently plugged.
So i will assume that tthe top port now becomes the out port anf the bottom port is the PB port where i connect the hose that will run my 3pt lift.
