3-Point Hitch Hydraulic Top Link

You sure your remotes go side by side and not up and down?

If he hooked them up wrong in that regard they would stall and not function at all. Don't ask how I know that.... :)

I’m interested to see if you get an answer.

Well then...here ya go:
"What you describe does sound like normal operation. Your remotes seem different from the models at your local store because you have both the backhoe and the third remote options. On your tractor:
• The A remote is continuous detent to power the backhoe.
• B remote is floating detent, which means it can be used like a spring center valve with light pressure, then when placed in the locked position it allows fluid to flow through the valve in either direction but does not apply pressure.
• The C remote is standard spring center or momentary.
The extra effort required to lock the B remote into floating position compared to the A is normal as the locking mechanisms are different."

I then asked if my B should lock in both positions. Answer: "No the B remote should only lock in one position."
We have our answer folks!
By the way, it took about 6 hours to get an official answer - fast!
So Gunny's tractor sounds like it's working correctly too since got neither the backhoe nor the 3rd rear remote.

Yeah sounds about right. I have the HTL hooked up to A and it’s working like a champ. So nice to be able to change the cutting angle on the rotary cutter and the finish mower - haven’t tried the box blade or the blade yet.

These issues sound like issues you should experience with a used tractor purchase when no manuals were available.
These issues should be covered in a manual explaining how they function and some examples of usage. It should also be explained when delivered.

Yeah, not. My tractor was delivered in the rain with all my implements. It was a rush job at best. I had to go to the store to pick up missing parts and spray paint (because RK paints all the gold king kutter implements red). Like they literally paint them. I picked up a carryall that was still wet. Have the paint on my T-shirt to prove it. The manual I’m my opinion is horrible at best. Nobody ever walked me through the operation of the tractor. I will say this though, RK has met my expectations after the purchase. Now if they would just fix the bucket issue.

Gunny, which model Agristore hydraulic top link did you get from Amazon? Did you have to grind down the ball end to to be able to mount it to your tractor? That's one of the things that I don't get about the RK24. It lists as having a Cat 1 three point hitch, which I would expect to be able to use any Cat 1 top link, but it doesn't as the mount on the tractor is too narrow. I finally found a reference to it being a Cat 1 (N) link, but so far I've been unable to find any such animal anywhere.

Thanks!

You’ll be glad you did. It’s a great price and makes things so easy. I actually made a lever for the outside on the back so I could move it in and out when hooking implements up.

Great Idea, I was wondering the same here. I will look at it today and see what I can do for mine. :tractor:

Scroll up the pic is in an earlier reply. It looks like a screwdriver. I actually welded a piece of round pipe that I cut a slit in to a nut driver.

I have the optional 3rd remote. The bottom set labelled A was hooked up to the backhoe. It has detents to lock it in on either side (keeping the fluid flowing constantly) so will not work on the HTL. The optional 3rd one on top is labelled C and does not lock in - like a joystick - fluid flows only when at either end and stops when released. The middle one labelled B was the first one I tried to hook my HTL to - something wasn't right: forward seems to lock it in like A and backward seems not lock in like C. Have not had a chance to look into it further. As usual, the owner's manual is lacking in information.
At this point, my HTL is hooked into the 3rd/C remote and works fine. So if your A is set up for backhoe with detents and your B is misbehaving like mine and you don't have the C, it will be hard to control the HTL.

Markie61,
Didi your tractor come with the "C" remote? I want to add a hy. top link to my RK55S. I need to be able to keep the implement connected to A and B, therefore needing a 3rd remote.
