Hydraulic Leak / Fix

Discovered a spray of hydraulic oil on the ground after digging a stump. Looking at stabilizer marks on ground, I could tell about where the leak had originated. Inspection revealed a thread-to-thread connection that didn't show sign of thread sealant. Pictures show location and solution...

Dude,

I hate to be critical but in the last picture showing the nicely fixed leak, there is a pin also shown. It looks like you are beating heck out of it and mushrooming the end. You really need to replace it and then buy a brass drift and a brass faced hammer.

Hey jb,

Both pins are "as delivered" with the lovely (sarcasm) hammer-tone finish. I remove and install the pins with hand pressure. Your concern is appreciated... I do have both a brass drift and brass hammer. Condition of both pins will be brought to the attention of my dealers service department at the end of this month. (time to get back to mowing)

Wow! Looks like the dealer's techs are more than just a bit heavy handed!

As you posted, if they are aligned correctly (if!) there is no need to pound.
