Hydraulic fluid

   / Hydraulic fluid #2
There are plenty of people here on TBN that use that very fluid.
I personally use Kubota sUDT/2 OEM fluid.
Tractor Supply in particular got a black eye years ago for selling a long outdated tractor hydraulic / transmission and marketing it as acceptable in modern equipment. I believe it was a "303" rated fluid, which should never be used in modern tractor transmissions.

I remember the 303 cluster.
Would have liked to use Mobil but it seems non existent around me. I run hydro guard in my 9500 deer combine and deere is very proud of it. The travelers appears to be the only thing around thanks for your input

Any one ever use Traveller hydraulic fluid for their Hst kioti ? Can’t find the Mobil orr a couple of the other brands in stock

thanks
Yes. Used it to top off my 2010 DK - 40 since new; AND per my selling dealer, I never changed the hydraulic oil - ONLY filters, HST AND HYDRAULIC, per scheduled maintenance intervals.
OEM filters from Kioti.
Had backhoe, T - N -T, cylinders and diverted valve for front remotes for grapple, snowblower, sickle bar, tree shear.
Just traded it with 1530 hours with NO hydraulic issues; other than small fitting leaks.
YMMV.

I picked up the Kioti filters Interesting about not changing the fluid. Is that recommended in service manual? I'm at 900hrs I thought the hydro fluid should be changed every 400hrs, I'm a little over since my last change at 400

   / Hydraulic fluid #6
If you changed it at 400 hrs, you should be good to go. Remember I NEVER changed it from factory through 1530 hours - and owned it from day one since 2010.

Its common sense that is the fluid stays clear and clean by filtration, (never milky color, indicating water in system); that it's a closed system and doesn't need to be changed out.

I'm living proof of the above. No manual or manufacturer is going to put that in print - duh🤑; they want to sell service and fluids, and their posse of lawyers would have a fit!😎
You do whatever works for you...
I have a brand new CK4020 AND a Kioti 750 track loader, that's $115,000 worth of equipment - I wouldn't risk damaging. Not bragging here, BUT, I owned and ran a foreign auto sales and service business for over ten years; so I had better know what I'm talking about, right?

I wouldn't. They have previously sold sub standard tractor fluid and are or have been sued over it.

If you cant find mobil maybe your Co-op has countrymark since your in the midwest.

Doesn't your Koiti dealer sell transmission fluid??

Not saying to or not to use TSC's home brand - Travelers, BUT, Kioti does sell their own Kioti branded hydraulic oil, which I've used in my Sany SY-50U 5 metric ton excavator, AND will be using it in my new, aforementioned brand new 750 track loader and CK - 4020HST cab tractor.

Sometimes, not always, one gets what they pay for...
Sometimes, probably most often, OEMs buy from giant name brands and under license, they rebrand it under their name.

You're not doing Space Shuttle maintenance here; relax and buy the best most hi-spec brand, and use it with confidence.

How's that any different from what you did at 400 hrs?

400 hrs did all fluids
I don't change the hudraulic fluid in my combine and most people I know don't do the hydraulics in their deere machines just change the filters

I use the NAPA brand fluid for my excavator and dont even think twice because it has 5800 hrs. and is good and used. LOL But scared to death to use something other than OEM in the tractor. Sometimes I wonder if it is all the same thing or the OEM's actaully put special "things" in there that their equipment has to have to function properly. It is like a scary movie if you dare use something other than OEM suggestion. :ROFLMAO::LOL:

No OEM makes there own oil that I am aware of, but many have specs good reasons.

Many aftermarket providers (including Napa and Carquest) was selling universal tractor fluid that "meets" JD 303 specs when not only did not meet those specs but something the level of 303 has not been specified for 50 plus years.

Good luck
