Can someone tell me exactly what this means?? Pump flow rate (l/min) 2 x 17,2 / 6,7

It's out of the manual for my mini. I would guess 2 stage pump 17 lit per min??

Thanks
Daltro

its not written very clearly, but i would guess they mean 2 pumps one at 17.2 L/Min and one at 6.7L/Min
could be a charge pump and main pump, or power steering pump and hydraulic pump, hard to say without knowing the system.

thats my shot in the dark anyway.

Could also mean two 17.2 lpm pumps and one 6.7 lpm pump. I assume your mini has ll gear pumps.

There's only a single pump but I recall being told it's a 2 stage pump and those 17 & 6 #'s must be the respective flow rates as you guys point out.

You didn't say which mini you have, but the euro community likes to replace decimal points with commas - if I had to guess, I'd say that "2 x 17,2 / 6,7" means 2 stage, low pressure is 17 POINT 2 L/min, high pressure is 6 POINT 7 L/min.

Just a guess... Steve

How many line are hooked to the pump?

I haven't looked at it in a while but I believe it's got 2 lines coming out of the pump, I'll have to confirm the next time I'm by the machine. It is a Yuchai YC15 - Chinese made.

BukitCase - What does the Point mean.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys

Well it's a 2 stage, if it had 3 then it would be 2 pumps in one unit.

Sorry, I was making the POINT  that in Europe, the number 6,3 is used where in the US, that number would be written 6.3 - here, we pronounce it six POINT three, I'm not sure how six COMMA three would be pronounced.

Maybe if you were to complete your profile with a general location, we could communicate better  ... Steve

No 2-stage pumps on an excavator. 2-section pump, yes. 2-stage pump,no. You would have a real hard time trying to control a excavator or backhoe or just about anything elce with a 2-stage pump on it.

It may be indicating the flow rate for each stage. As I understand, 2-stage pumps put out less flow in the second-stage, because they've adjusted to handle higher pressures.

What they seem to be saying is that your pump puts out 17.2 lpm in the first stage, and 6.3 lpm in the second stage. As BukitCase pointed out, it's common in Europe to use a comma in place of a decimal point. This also makes senses because the flow is shown in liters and not gallons.

The only place you will find a 2-stage pump, is on a logsplitter, trash compactor or anything that you don't need control of the hydraulics. You would not want your excavator, backhoe, dumptruck or most anything elce to change speed unexpectedly. Anyway! The first pump is what Yuchai calls a "Changeable Flow rate Pump" Around here, we would call it a "Variable-displacement pump" and it is 17.2 L/min. max flow. The second pump is what they call a "Constant Flow rate Pump" and it is 6.3 L/min.
