When you look at skidsteer vs tractor the hydraulic flow is quite different. Why don't tractors have the same amount of flow as the bobcats etc to run more intense hydraulic implements? Just curious.

Simple. The skid steer has only a hydraulic connection to get power from the engine to the attachment. No PTO. A tractor has a mechanical connection, sometimes two or even three. Mid-pto, 540 pto and some have a separate 1000 pto.

Tractors don't need to dedicate the big hydraulic volume and power for attachments.

If you wanted to run things like a hyd stump grinder or a 7 ft hyd bush-hog, You could run a 25 gpm pump off the PTO, like the Prince PTO pump, It would take about 43.75 hp to achieve this. You would have to have at least that much tractor HP just to run the pump, and some more HP to run the tractor. So in that situation, you would need about 50 HP. Most tractor hyd pumps are sized to work the fel, and some rear remotes.

On my Power-Trac, it has a 45 HP engine to run three hydraulic pumps, and if all three are doing work at the same time, I only have a few HP left.

Hp to drive hydraulic pump = Psi x GPM / 1714
