I just evidently cracked the hydraulic filter block on my 4046 for the second time in six months .anyone else do this?
I was running over some brush both times. Nothing big. I think I could fix it myself if I knew the part number

Fluid is pouring out above filter. The filter points straight down too far in my opinion.
I'm going to fabricate a guard this time. It cost me 400.00 last time. Any help ??? With part?

The main hydraulic filter is mounted horizontal on the 4046, guessing you are referring to the hydrostatic filter? Is it a cab model?

Tractors are just not armored for forestry use. They only design them for use in open fields. Before taking any tractor in the woods, I would invest in armoring all sensitive areas. They make them easy to service, but that leaves the filters exposed.

You're right. Also the backhoe frame is super easy knock that filter when taking it off or putting on. Bad design I think.

It is not cab model. And I guess it is the hydrostat filter. I think I could do it myself. But they are picking it up today to fix. As soon as I get it back I am fabricating a brush guard out of expanded steel
