I was using the bucket on the tractor and the controller when loose, one of the balls that lifts the cable came a drift. I rang the agent who sold the unit and they said have to buy whole thing for $550 they and I thought this was over the top.
The bucket is made by Challenge Implements for CNH Australia Pty Ltd. It seems like it should be easy to fix but not sure what to do.

So the ball-end on the cable isn't 'broken' but the cable may be stiff and causing wear at the Cable Ball End?

These generic FEL control handle assemblies are made in (guess where? -Rhymes with 'Coal Miner') so I can believe you need to, either re-furb the ball/socket interface or, replace the assembly.

The pivot shaft with the ball was coated in nylon and this had broken, which is why it would not hold. I tried to buy another but could not get one but I did find one 4mm shorter that was round, mine had a flat side. So a bit of grinding and a few washers and a longer bolt and it is as good as new. $20 for the new pivot so very happy.
