I am seeking advice on connecting a log splitter with an open center valve to the FEL connection block of my B2320 HSD.
I have researched this on this site and others but two questions remain:

1) Will it harm the loader valve by keeping it open with a bungee cord?
2) Does it matter which circuit I use, bucket up/down, or bucket curl?

I would have used the power beyond port on the loader valve, but it is used to send flow to the 3 point hitch.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

If you raise the loader and then use the lift circuit for log splitters, and the lift cyl leak down, you will be in trouble.

If you use the curl circuit, use curl up or left lever

It would be best if you used the PB at the back of the tractor, and not use the the 3pt.

Or you could set the height of the log splitter, push the 3pt lever to neutral, shut off the tractor, and unplug the PB line from the 3pt and and plug in the log splitter.

If your log splitter valve had PB, you could use both.

Thanks J_J.

I don't have a loader. At least not yet, so leakdown would not a problem.
The dealer wanted to charge $1,000 to add a set of rear hydraulics which I presume would use the PB but I cannot spend that much.
Do you know of anyone who sells a 3rd party product that would allow me to tap into the PB? The PB on my tractor uses what looks like a banjo bolt and steel tubing instead of hose, making a connection rather difficult.

No, that is not difficult.

Measure the pipe, obtain some compression fittings and you can add your remotes.

Does your hyd block not have a pressure out port and PB in port and maybe a return port like this.

Jere is the schematic for the B2330. May be similar

Hi JJ,

Sorry for disappearing for a month. Life got very busy. It appears that the power beyond circuit is tied up by the 3 point hitch. There is almost no room to even get a close look at the FEL valve without removing one of the rear fenders. Bear in mind that Kubota started including a FEL valve with every B2320 even if the owner did not purchase a FEL. So, not only do I have the FEL valve, I also have a set of 4 quick disconnects for FEL hoses. I was proposing (and did) tie into the quick disconnects to power my log splitter. Everything works great so far and I am pleased. I can still adjust the splitter up and down with the 3PH, although not while splitting a log. I will try to post some pictures here. The tie-down is the only part I am not proud of. I built the splitter about 20 years ago and it has performed very well over the years.

Thanks for posting back.

Glad you have everything working for you.

Are you using the FEL lift QD's?

Yes, I am using the FEL lift QD's, since I don't have a loader anyway it should be ok I would think. If I ever get a loader, I guess I would leave the bucket on the ground but curled up so I could still move the tractor a bit if I had to while splitting wood. In any case, since the QD's are all identical, it is a simple matter to swap my splitter to the bucket curl (dump) circuit.

If I have more time and feel braver, I may try cutting the steel line and use compression fittings like you suggested. But for now I have something that works and was very inexpensive and easy to install. Thank you for all your input JJ.
