After trying out the build my L3240 I notices all kinds of options listed for
hydraulic remotes. No where on the Kabota site are these options explained.

When I go to my dealer with my want list I would like to be slightly more
knowledgable in regards to these options.

Can anyone explain to me what these various Hydraulic remote options are, and
which would be usefull?

Hey Turtro we are in the same boat. I'm looking to pick up the exact same machine I asked pretty much the same question here a few days ago and got no answers so I sent an email to Kubota but it said up to 7 days for a response. I will let you know what they said when/if I hear back. What type of transmission are you looking for? What type of work are you planning on? This will help determine what type of options you will need For myself I know I want a Q/A loader with 3rd function so I can get a grapple bucket. If you see no need for a grapple(dont know why you would'nt) I would still get the Q/A at the very least. My questions are with the rear remotes as you know. I'm not sure which type I should get standard or float style I'm not sure how the float works for the rear if it's the same on the FEL where it works like a standard until you push it farther and it locks into float mode. Or what you would use a float valve in the rear for. I would suggest 2 rear remotes and top n tilt kit also but i'm kind of lazy and dont like hoping on and off the tractor all the time. Good luck to you and let me know what kind of price the dealer is offering you. Oh yea make sure you get the larger FEL (724) or you will be sorry later.

Hi

Yes I saw your post a day ago with no replies, and I've been surfing here on the board but haven't found any descriptions in regards to the various remote options....so do you know the difference
between Standard vs Float remotes? There are soooo many choices for these options, and I'm a newbie to tractors. Not sure right now what I would use remotes for, but a friend told me I should get them when I buy the tractor since eventually I'll find a need for them. I plan on getting the QA Skidsteer for the FEL. BH not sure which one yet. It's taken me awhile but I'm leaning more & more towards the L3240 since it has all the features I would like.

Float is a huge help with the FEL, but I cannot think of a good use for it off the top of my head in the rear. When the time comes, if a float option is only $20 or $30 more, I would say "why not!"

Two sets would do most of what you would want to do but getting 3 is kind of like insurance so I would opt for 3. To give you some idea, I was planning on putting this valve on my BX

Surplus Center Item Detail

Having a float valve (you know what that does) or a detent valve (where you push it and it stays pushed on its own until it reaches the end of a cylinder's stroke and automatically "pops" off) cannot hurt, but I would expect a basic DA (double acting or pushes the cylinder both ways) would provide what you need for most applications

Only thing i'd see me using float for on the rear would be running a finish mower(on the top link)........ to allow it more travel to follow the terrain better.

When I bought my L3130 I also got 3 remotes to be installed when the dealer setup my tractor. I got the standard type of remote and I have not found a need for a float type.

Get the remotes when you buy the tractor, they will never be cheaper. My dealer said that they removed the right fender to make the work easier and faster, before they put that wheel on.

I bought my L3130 about 2.5 years and paid just over $1300 for 3 remotes.

My setup is this:
Valve 1 is standard with the outlets at the rear; now used for the top link.
Valve 2 is teed with outlets at rear and the front; used to rotate the tree shear. Will also be used for tilt function.
Valve 3 has the outlets at the front for a grapple for the tree shear cut function. This also should have been teed to the rear to be useable for the shift function on my flail mower. I will have to buy the piece parts to do this now.

Hope this helps.

You are welcome to the info.

Basically the float position allows free flow to each side of a cylinder so the piston can move with any load on it. Note this won't happen with a top link or tilt link that has a check valve on it.

As I said I don't have or can foresee any implements that I might get that would utilize a float remote valve. If you should need one later you could just buy the spool valve to replace the one you already have.

Float valves are great too use on a hydraulic side link. Put the valve in float while smoothing a road with a box blade or rear blade turned backwards and the blade follows the contour of the road. Again as was already posted, this will not work with the check valve hydraulics.

Thanks Vernon for your info, at least I'll have a better understanding of these remote options when speaking with the dealer.
